Weekly Design Inspiration: Shop Favourites!

Over at the CPD shop, we are always on the lookout for special pieces that will turn a house into a home. Don’t get me wrong -- I love a good show stopping kitchen or ensuite. However, we have come to appreciate some of the finer things in life. This week we will take you through some of our favourite things in-store right now!

Salt and Pepper Please!

Although they may not be the most glamourous household items, when done correctly, salt and pepper grinders can be a source of inspiration. We love these brass salt and pepper grinders that speak to a time gone-by. As we have grown to appreciate a good homemade meal over the past couple of years, we now understand that salt and pepper are essential to so many recipes. When seasoning your next steak, stop to appreciate the statuesque look of this duo. It’s love at first sight!

Pass the Glass

You don’t need to be a wine connoisseur to appreciate this glass decanter. A few years ago, we all fell in love with the bar cart, and for good reason; drinks are a lovely way to spend time with friends and care for them. However, maybe we aren’t ready to commit to a fully traditional look and that’s ok. That’s why we are obsessed with this decanter, inspired by retro thermoses, this decanter blends New York with the great outdoors. Bonus: the lid is also a cup! I love to use this in guest bedrooms so overnight visitors have easy access to water overnight.

Hammer it Home

We don’t know about you, but good dishware is what we’re all about lately. We have been enjoying taking the time to cook a good meal for our friends and family but that doesn’t mean that we can’t also enjoy cooking the meal! These adorable little hammered gold pinch bowls are exactly what we need when planning our recipes and getting our food ready. The hammered texture and unevenness all contribute to its charming quality; perfect for any imperfect family.

Design Tip: If you feel like your home is lacking moments for its character to shine through, look to accessories to save the day! Each item that you place in your home has a story; make it a good one!
