Weekly Design Inspiration: Leaf the Colours to Us

We have been noticing that our mornings are starting to have the slightest chill to them. We love taking a long, deep breath and embracing the crisp air while we reflect on everything to come in autumn. Every year we find ourselves once again falling in love with the colours around us and we can’t help but be influenced by Mother Nature and her ever-changing palette. Today we’re taking a look at some of our favourite pieces that have been inspired by the leaves.

moss

Moss has always seemed like the older, wiser cousin of Hunter Green and we are eternally grateful for its effortlessly cool vibes. We love how this toned-down green can seamlessly fit into almost any room, acting as a neutral when needed yet providing just a hint of colour. The great thing about moss is that it’s incredibly versatile; it can take on textures like leather and boucle and seem like it’s instantly at home.

sienna

Anyone who has taken an art class can tell you that Sienna is a staple of any artist’s kit and it’s no different for interior designers. The hue acts as if it's a watercolour that blends into the landscape of the room. We love how it’s a punched-up version of beige while still remaining palatable for most interiors. The muddy undertones of the colour allows for versatility but it’s still enough to make a statement by itself.

squash

Squash is one of the new kids on the block; warm colours have started their resurgence over the last couple of years and we are happy to see colours like squash popping up all over our feeds. Squash is a beautifully understated tone that fuses acorn brown with pumpkin and we couldn’t think of anything better to bring into our homes this fall. We think that it’s the perfect backdrop for a range of shades; from almond to chocolate, this autumnal colour is perfect for every season.

Design Tip: Creating a space that welcomes you home each night goes beyond colours; be sure to pick a variety of textures when choosing pieces because it’s that curated look that will turn your house into a home.
