Weekly Design Inspiration: Kitchen Combos
When designing a kitchen, you’re constantly asked to make important decisions about the look, feel, and functionality of your space. Once you've sorted through where to put the appliances, how big the island should be, and how many walls to knock down, you might not feel like choosing hardware that compliments your cabinetry. Thankfully, there is a no shortage of inspiration for kitchen hardware combinations that will work for your space, no matter what style you’re after!
Cream and Brass
Although we can all still rely on a white kitchen to set the pace for a classic look, cream has come on the scene with fervor. There’s no denying its inherent sense of welcoming and warmth, especially when paired with traditional touches here and there. To add to the richness of the hue, consider adding notes of brass throughout. Sleek lines and elongated cabinetry will elevate and modernize the space as well.
Sage and Nickel
Sage and other verdant tones have found their way into the spotlight and we couldn’t be happier. Green is a naturally soothing colour which is probably why it’s one of the most popular kitchen colours after the tumultuous year that we’ve had. For those looking to turn their sage spaces into an ethereal dream, look no further than nickel accents. Although black and gold have primarily taken over the scene for the past few years, we are starting to see the pendulum swing the other way. Polished and brushed nickel is cool, calm, and collected, and it’s got just a hint of warmth.
Wood and Black
Many of us will always look for spaces that ground us and bring us back to nature in some way. That is why wood has always been a mainstay in kitchens in one way or another. With whitewashed & white oak woods being such a popular pick, it’s naturally complemented by another grounding colour: black. Together, they create a refined take on the outdoors. Depending on the hardware chosen, black can also blend in more seamlessly to allow the grain to take the stage.
Design Tip: If you’re using different companies for different pieces of hardware, be sure to check samples of their finishes before you order. Different companies can have different takes on what “oil-rubbed bronze” and “brushed brass” really mean.
