Weekly Design Inspiration: Bathrooms

As I was scrolling through Pinterest this week I came across this image and it got me thinking about bathrooms and how many different directions you can take the design.

What do you love?

White and Bright, Dark and Moody or Bright and Colourful.

Modern, Transitional or Traditional all the way?

What I suggest to my clients is to think long term. Yes, trends are great but I recommend that you ask yourself “Will I love this in 5 years?” If you hesitate, then I suggest selecting finishes that are more timeless and classic.

When it comes to tile, select something that you gravitate towards and love - but think outside of the box when it comes to how you instal that tile. It can really take your bathroom to the next level or choose a tile with a pattern.

I often talk about lighting and how it can really make or break a room and the bathroom is no exception. Personally, I love wall sconces on either side of the mirror vs doing an over the mirror fixture. It really elevates the overall look!

Mirrors are also another easy upgrade you can make. Forget about builder basic. Choose something unique that reflects your style.

If you don’t have glass shower doors - add a pop with your shower curtain. The fabric adds nice texture and softness to the space ( this can also be done by adding drapery - a personal fav of mine! )

When it comes to finishes, the sky is your limit.

Whether you choose Black, Brass, Brushed Nickel or Chrome you can’t go wrong. Also, don’t be afraid to mix your finishes.

TIP: Add a black mirror with chrome faucets or black faucets with a brass mirror.
