Stylish Cafes in Ottawa
Inspiration can be found everywhere.
One of my favorite places to feel inspired is at the locally owned restaurants and cafes in our community. I love to support local whenever I can and the atmosphere that these local business owners have created is exceptional. Check out the images below for some of our favourite caffeine boosting places that are truly an experience to visit.
The Thirsty Maiden - Kanata
The Thirsty Maiden, located in Kanata has created a truly instagrammable experience perfect for pairing with any of their daily rotating selection of baked goods and artisanal sandwiches and drinks. They have turned a warehouse space into a must-see by adding beautiful wood toned floors and funky mismatched furniture. The roll up door makes the space super inviting, while the namesake sign announces you have arrived. This cafe is worthy of a spot in the busiest part of town but it’s off the beaten track so don’t miss it!

Cafe Cristal - Barrhaven
Cafe Cristal has it all. Classic and moody decor sets the tone for a quiet coffee with good friends. I love how no matter where you look there is something interesting to capture your eye. Aged bricks adorn one wall, while worn hardwood floors and captivating tile line the floor. They have even added a feature ceiling with hanging faux florals.
692 Coffee and Bar -Manotick
692 in Manotick has created a perfect spot to rest your weary legs after a day of antiquing in town. We love their bright space with vertical tongue and groove walls, it pairs perfectly with their hardwood floors and cast iron tables. Cool floor transitions well from tile to hardwood! This building is 120 years old and they managed to revitalize and modernize while still keeping many original elements that were in good condition, including the original bar and sidepiece.
The Art House Cafe -Centertown
The Art House Cafe displays unique and locally created artwork that can provide the perfect accent for your home decor. Sip on an artisanal cocktail or coffee on their open patio while touring the cafe online virtually, searching for that perfect piece. (or book a tour of their gallery in advance!)
Palmier - Chelsea
What could be better after hiking the Gatineau hills than a stop at this ultra chic cafe. Serving coffee and artisanal cocktails, Palmier has crafted a unique user experience. Polished concrete floors gleam against the contrasting light wood furnishings. I love the bright pinks and tropical plants that feel like throwbacks to simpler times.
