Weekly Design Inspiration: Shiplap
If you’ve followed our blog for long you probably know that I’m a huge fan of shiplap. It’s easily incorporated into your home and adds a simple and classic focal piece to any space without pulling too much attention away from the rest of your beautiful space.
You’ve definitely seen a shiplap wall or two in your time, but there are so many ways that you can incorporate this trend into your space. We’ve shared some examples below.
Accent Walls
This beautiful accent wall spans two levels throughout this home. By incorporating the classic look of shiplap with the clean lines and black colour, this space feels both modern and farmhouse chic.
A shiplap accent wall would look beautiful in a statement colour or in a classic white.
Ceiling
I love these designs that incorporate shiplap on the ceiling!
You can even pair it running in different patterns. This shiplap ceiling pairs perfectly with the chevron shiplap accent wall.
I love how the shiplap continues from wall to ceiling so seamlessly. The clean lines are so beautiful!
Keeping the shiplap to the ceiling only and the walls clean and blank allows your eye to travel down the hall and elongate the space while drawing your attention to a focal area.
Accent Spaces
If you’re not too keen on committing to a full wall or ceiling, a smaller focal piece could be ideal. Shiplap wrapped fireplaces are becoming more and more common and I love it!
I love these chevron shiplap accents against this exposed brick fireplace. The beautiful sconces tie everything together!
Shiplap can be easily incorporated into small areas to compliment other focal points.
Kitchens
If Farmhouse is your vibe, then you may want to consider incorporating shiplap into your kitchen.
It’s great (with the proper product applied) as a backsplash and it looks fabulous on this range hood as well.
If you want to add just a touch, the kitchen island is the perfect way to add texture and interest.
