Weekly Design Inspiration: Lime Wall Paint
Who doesn't love a good neutral? They pair well with everything, hide imperfections, and last over time. However, sometimes you want something a little extra to take your design from good to great. Lime Wall textured paints are a great way to achieve your look with a layered feel. The paint is blended with natural mineral pigments delivering a gorgeous designer matte finish. JH Wall Paints are eco-friendly as they contain only naturally occurring ingredients from the earth. They are non-toxic, contain zero VOC with no synthetic chemicals or fillers. When applied, the paint absorbs and removes odorous and harmful carbon dioxide from the air in the curing process thus improving interior air quality. We just received a fresh shipment of JH Walls Lime Wall Paint at the CPD Store so be sure to stop in and see the wide array of colours available.
P.S. we offer free colour matching to most national paint brands including Benjamin Moore.
Bathroom
A bathroom may not be the most conventional space for a limewash look, but as so many people look to their bathrooms as places to relax, textured walls aid in that cocooned feeling that people are looking for. In a powder room, don’t be afraid to use it everywhere. In the main bathroom or ensuite, contrast the rich texture with a matte or high gloss tile to create an elevated look.
Kitchen
As we see warmer tones start to come into the kitchen, think of limewash paint as a place to rest your eyes. Let the wood cabinetry and shiny appliances take centre stage, while your limewashed element acts as a subtle statement piece. If you’re renovating, keep in mind that you can pair trends, such as painting your oversized, statement vent hood in a creamy, oyster colour. The limewash look is so versatile, it can accommodate any style from farmhouse modern to rustic Euro and modern Spanish.
Living Spaces
Dens, offices and living rooms are ideal spots for this cozy look. Use it on the fireplace build-out, use it on the ceiling, or use it generously on the walls. Nothing will add warmth to a new renovation or home faster than texture. So while you’re adding wood, throws, and mantles, don’t forget to add a splash of that same coziness to your painted elements.
Design Tip: If you love contrast as much as we do, pair this rustic look with modern elements, like an unlacquered brass faucet, modern appliances, and linear fireplaces.
