Weekly Design Inspiration: Head of House

As we get older, going to bed just happens to be one of our favourite times of day. We love how a good night’s sleep makes us feel but we still want our bed to be a style moment! We know that a stunning headboard is a statement piece that is just for you to enjoy. There’s such a wide world of options for headboards; anything from fabric to furniture to built-in are all great choices!

Velvety Touch

There’s something oh so luxurious about a fabric headboard. The fabric folds and the soft velvety touch adds a richness and depth to the design that is hard to match. There’s so many options for this style. You can choose an entirely custom shape and size if you want to create a dramatic moment, or choose something store-ready if you want to keep it easy. Most importantly, choose a durable fabric!

Lost and Found

Few things are more charming than an untraditional headboard. The look of a found piece standing in for a bed frame is so innocent and effortlessly chic. You have complete control over how eclectic you want to go with this. A room divider works well if you want to put it up as-is. From there, you can DIY to your heart’s content! Chair backs, luggage cases, and shutters are all sources of inspiration that we’ve seen!

Built-in Bliss

Some of us may or may not have overstuffed nightstands that we ignore every night before we go to bed. If you’re with us on storage issues, we love the idea of creating a custom solution that works for you! Not only does built-in millwork always look more expensive, but it’s also what will be the most efficient for your needs. It can be as minimalist as having a half-wall ledge, or as thought-out as incorporating hidden touch-latch storage, and we love it all!

Design Tip: What’s the point of having a drool-worthy headboard if you can’t see it? Invest in bedside lighting, whether you prefer sconces or table lamps, and make every night a night to behold.
