Weekly Design Inspiration: Easter Parade

We love everything about Easter: the time with family, the chocolate, and the fun decor that goes along with it all. The change that Easter brings about represents the shifting of the seasons and the look is always cheerful and bright. Whether you want to embrace the holiday or simply give a nod to the spring season, we have got ideas for you! Living rooms, dining tables, and the front porch are all great places to get a start of your decorating.

Pastels and Pillows

Living rooms can take a lot of wear and tear. Kids, pets, and visitors are all shuffled through here. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t have spring decor! Practical pieces that are more resilient to breakage like pillows and artwork will do well here. Think of pastel colours like baby blue and pale pink to set the stage but don’t forget to add in some patterns! Floral and woodland patterns make for a great accent pillow.

Green Thumb

Decorating the outside of your home for spring is always fun because it’s one of the first times we can use plants outside! If you’re going for a more minimalist look, stick to ferns and other greenery, using a variety of plants to keep the look interesting. If you want to introduce some colour, you can do anything from using colourful flowers, whimsical pots, or even a cheerful new front door colour!

Be our Guest

Setting the dining table for Easter is always a cherished activity for us. We love breaking out the serviettes, the chargers, and the centerpieces. If you’re worried about going too traditional, the key is to mix and match. Choose a colour scheme and use all of the colours in unexpected ways like having unique napkins for everyone. Vintage depression glass in different colours is a treat for both kids and adults!

Design Tip: To cement your Easter design firmly in the spring, choose flowers that are in season in your area!
