Weekly Design Inspiration: Bathroom Wish List

We all know the bathroom must haves: vanity, mirror, toilet, shower.. But what about that dream list or the luxurious add ons that you wished you had? We’ve put together the top wish list items that we think are worth the extra money while designing your dream bathroom.

Comfort Height Vanity

This is something that is so obvious that you’ll wonder why this isn’t the standard. Comfort height vanities sit between 34-36 inches high, so that means no more crouching over to brush your teeth or wash your hands.

And while we are on the topic of comfort height, a comfort height toilet is so necessary! Especially if you or someone in your family is on the taller side!

Curbless Showers

I love a curbless shower - the same floor running seamlessly throughout the space, which actually makes your room appear larger. This is a great option if you have a small footprint.

No curbs to step over and a great option for those aging in their home.

Handheld Shower Head

A handheld shower head is an absolute must! Not only do they allow you to change the height and water pressures, but they make cleaning a breeze by allowing you to spray down the shower instead of using the old bucket of water.

Even better, if you have animals or kids that are difficult to wrangle into the shower, you have more room to move to get them clean!

Large Rainfall Shower

A large rainfall shower head is so dreamy and relaxing, not to mention just how gorgeous they look in a bathroom! The larger the better, no need to manouvre in the shower trying to stay under the tiny shower head.

Shower Niche

I always incorporate a niche into my bathroom designs, they’re an absolute necessity! A built in place to store your shampoo and conditioner bottles that looks clean and intentional, rather than stacking them across the edge of the tub or on the floor in the shower - only to tuck them away into the vanity when guests are over.

Its also so nice having the bottles at a comfortable and convenient height, no more bending to pick bottles up or a caddy over the shower head!

Shower Bench

I’m not necessarily a lover of shower benchs, however if you have a steam shower, it’s nice to have a place to sit and relax.

In this particular example, they incorporated a niche above the shower bench and kept the shower symmetrical so in this case, it works.

Heated Floors

Ahh, heated floors! Is there anything worse than stepping out of a nice warm shower onto freezing cold tile? Heated floors keep your toes nice and toasty, especially in the frigid winter months when the thought of taking your socks off is terrifying!

Freestanding Tub

A free standing tub is a great option if you are looking for a more elevated look within your bathroom. It allows you to go with a showstopper piece that becomes the centre of attention.
