Weekly Design Inspiration: Basket Beauty

At CPD, we love all things cozy, especially as we turn back the clocks this weekend and the nights get longer. One of our favourite cozy items are our baskets. Luckily for you, they are currently on sale at 20% off until November 30th at the CPD store! So let’s take a look at some of our favourite basket trends this season.

Blanket Statement

One of the most conventional uses for baskets over the past few years have been to house blankets and pillows. For this, consider pairing a couple of baskets side by side of differing sizes. Keep smaller items in them, like lightweight throws and small accent pillows. These types of catchall baskets are perfect for open-concept homes where you need small stations and vignettes to break up the rooms.

Plant One on Us

Plants are one of the biggest home trends right now, as many of us enjoy the health benefits that come with taking care of them. However, conventional planters can be expensive and damage our floors as we move them around. Consider using a sturdy, soft-weave basket as an alternative. Two-tone baskets also add a bit of flair to the look and accentuate the modern bohemian look.

Take it Outside

Wicker and wire baskets are perfect for an outdoor vignette. Style them for the seasons and create some curb appeal. They are the perfect prop for a front step family photo. Since we live in Canada, you will need to be cognizant of the weather. However, wicker and wire will be more resistant to the elements. Logs, pinecones, and natural elements are the perfect filler!

Design Tip: Try to mix and match when pairing baskets to avoid them looking like a boxed set. Pick complementary tones and materials and pair in twos. However, if you choose a statement piece like a taller plant, only use one larger basket. Just remember to grab it at 20% off, only until November 30th!
