Weekly Design Inspiration: Au Natural

Few things are as reassuring as nature ebbing and flowing through its seasons every year. But when we’ve been stuck inside for so long, and the winter rears its head, let’s look at all of the ways that we can bring the outdoors in. One of the major trends for 2022 is natural products and materials and we could not be happier about it! There are so many opportunities to use this trend, including using natural stone, leather, and stoneware. Let’s get into it!

Stone the Crows

Natural stone is the epitome of luxury. The cool touch of the stone underneath your palm is such a calming way to reconnect with the earth. So many people are awed by the look of natural stone and they should be! When you look at natural stone, you are looking at thousands of years of sediment and pressure compressed into a decor piece. If you’re looking to invest in a piece, consider getting an end table or a bowl!

Leathery Love

Materials like leather have always been a staple in our lives. Due to its durability and supple softness, it remains one of the top materials in our homes. Not only that, but it’s one of the few fabrics that actually looks better as it weathers! However, some of us might want to try out a plant-based alternative, like pineapple or apple leather. We are here to confirm that a lot of these options can stand the test of time and look wonderful while doing it! Consider getting leather dining chairs or poufs for your next natural element!

Turn to Stone

Stoneware is one of our favourite trends because of its versatility! Stoneware designs can range from high-end modern to eclectic one-of-a-kind pieces. The look doesn’t just include dishes; think about other accessories like candlesticks and vases! Just like so many other natural materials, stoneware adds another texture to your home that is grounding and soothing.

Design Tip: If you don’t want to invest a lot in the look, just swap out some of your accessories! Go for bowls, pillows, decorative baubles instead of countertops and couches.
