Weekly Design Inspiration: Exterior Colours

Since our homes have done so much for us over the past year, what better way to say thank you than to give it a facelift? Paint is a quick and cost-effective way to make a big impact. Whether it’s airy, moody or au natural, there’s a look for every type of home.

Creamy Whites

Going with light and bright colours is one of the quickest ways to freshen up your home. Pair your whites with charcoal, black, or wood to ground the colour. Some of our favourite creamy whites are Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White OC-130, Simply White OC-117, and White Dove OC-17.

Charcoal

For those of us who dare to go darker, charcoal might be the option you’ve been looking for. You can choose to keep it cool or warm it up! The result will be breathtaking, we promise. Some of our favourite hues are Benjamin Moore’s Kendall Charcoal HC-166, Iron Mountain 2134-30, and Racoon Fur 2126-20.

Sage

Some of us like to take our inspiration from nature, and what better way to do that than choosing a soothing sage? The richness of the colour complements surrounding greenery, and pairs well with wood and stone tones. We’re currently obsessed with Benjamin Moore’s Saybrook Sage HC-114, Silver Sage 506, Flora AF-470.

Design Tip: Always check the back of the paint can for specific temperature requirements, and check if there’s any rain in the forecast for the next few days before you paint. Try to paint on a cloudy day, because direct sunlight can bake the paint and make it more prone to chipping.
