Weekly Design Inspiration: Winter Wonderland

When the holiday season approaches, there's no better way to create a warm, inviting atmosphere than by decorating the exterior of your home for Christmas. Transforming your outdoor space into a winter wonderland not only delights the neighbours but also fills your home with the spirit of the season. Today we’re showing you three creative ways to adorn your home's exterior for a magical Christmas display!

Luminous pathways

Create a mesmerizing entrance to your home by illuminating your pathways with elegant lighting. Instead of traditional string lights, opt for luminous pathway markers. These small, stake-mounted fixtures come in various styles, including vintage lanterns. Line your walkways, driveways, and garden paths with these exquisite luminaries. Choose warm white or soft golden LED lights to cast a welcoming glow that evokes the charm of a wintry wonderland. The simplicity of this design exudes elegance and creates a captivating entryway for your home.

wreaths and boughs

Wreaths and boughs have been synonymous with Christmas for centuries. Invest in high-quality, lush greenery wreaths made from real evergreen branches or lifelike artificial materials. Hang them on your front door, windows, and even your garage door for a cohesive look. Add refined accents such as velvet ribbons, gold or silver ornaments, and sparkling crystal elements to your wreaths. These touches will lend a touch of opulence to your decor while maintaining a classic Christmas charm. Consider oversized wreaths with subtle LED lighting to make your home truly shine after dark.

chic monochromatic

For a sophisticated and modern take on Christmas decor, opt for a monochromatic colour scheme. Choose a single colour, such as silver, gold, or deep burgundy, and use it throughout your exterior decor. Start by draping your home in lights and ornaments of the chosen colour, creating a visually striking and cohesive look. Add elegant and minimalistic wreaths to your windows and doors, using a complementary shade of the chosen colour. To complete the look, incorporate matching ribbons, bows, and metallic accents. The result is a stylish and understated exterior that exudes sophistication and refinement.

Design Tip: Although we’re usually not one to put up oversized decorations for the holiday we’ve been loving the trend of using oversized ornaments at the entrance!
