Weekly Design Inspiration: Hallowed Halls

We don’t mean to spook you, but Halloween is just around the corner. Be the best one on the block this year with your scarily-amazing decorations! Some of us love to go all out while others are ok with just a nod to Halloween here or there. Whether you’re keeping to yourself this Halloween or hosting a dinner party we have a look for every occasion! These looks are for the brave of heart and the kids at heart!

Kreepy Kitchens

We understand that kitchen clutter and busy homes don’t mesh. That’s why we think that small, simple decorations are the key to a happy Halloween home. Choose festive blooms for a pop of colour and break out the black construction paper! Bat cutouts are simple and effective especially when up against a white kitchen. A few tasty treats with a spooky flair add something extra to the space as well.

Daring Details

For those looking to get some bang for their buck don’t forget to create small moments throughout your home! Don’t just stop at a few pumpkins; look at your home through a festive lens. Serving surfaces like a sideboard are the perfect place to set up a spooky vignette. Swap out your art for some Halloween spoofs and serve your drinks from a skull. Blank canvases like stairwells are a great place to create a large scene that matches the scale of the space.

Deadly Dining

A dinner party for the dead and living is fun for everyone and your dining room should suit those sitting at the table! High ceilings are the perfect place for a cobweb or two, while a long table calls for a series of candlesticks. Have fun with signs, napkins, and servingware! Choose vintage-inspired items that add a gothic flair like a table runner or black candles.

Design Tip: If you’re stuck on thinking of creative Halloween ideas then try to think of a story instead! Whether it’s the haunted house of a wealthy widow or a world traveler who died in a mysterious way just think of it as a narrative as opposed to separate pieces.
